Week 42, more work at Intermezzo

The work around the cushions is up and running. By now there are 9 women involved with embroidering and crocheting.
The basic cushions – they will go together with the Ford Bench – I made from reused interior fabrics of old cars. Eventually the future owner of the Ford Bench will be able to choose between a matte white and a matte black version of the bench. There’s also cushions to choose from.

Some of the them will come with typical elements of Rotterdam harbour life, as there are lorries, peacefully chewing rabbits, river cargo ships, chicken and so on. With others the wereldwijven used colours from the existing, industrial patterns to strengthen or disturb these patterns in a more intuitive way.

Come and see the results with the finnisage at Saturday, 29/10 at Intermezzo!

The Fordbench, made from recycled interior parts of a Ford Mondeo, on base of a welded steel rack. It’s brother – a black matte version – is based on parts of a Ford Escort Van. The backrest is removable to reduce transport measurements. With a variety of cushions, still in the process of making of.
